How Acupuncture Treatments Can Improve Your Health
"Approximately one month ago, I awoke with a severe acute pain on my right side behind my hip. Previously, I had injured that spot in a Pilates class during one of my stretches.
It ached a bit but nothing like that morning! My sister had an acupuncture session with Rob the previous week and when she heard of my plight, she suggested I call him. I had never been to an acupuncturist before so I was a little apprehensive.
To my surprise, Rob’s professionalism, empathy and skill relieved my pain after one visit. The acupuncture procedure was virtually painless and he explained every step to me throughout the process. He is still following up with me to see how I am feeling.
I definitely recommend Rob to anyone seeking acupuncture and Chinese medicine services."
Acupuncture is ideal for those wanting a non-chemical treatment or less invasive solution to their illness or disorder. In many cases it is a much more cost effective treatment as well.
Modern medicine focuses on the use of expensive drugs and therapies. These medicines can cause side effects that are sometimes just as bad as or even worse than the original complication. Many of us would prefer a more natural healing process, one that directs its attention to bringing the body back into balance. Acupuncture does just that, without the long therapy sessions and doctor’s appointments that can grow so time consuming and expensive.

"Through use of the healing art of acupuncture treatments, I can help relieve the pain and suffering associated with many common illnesses and disorders. By restoring the body’s natural qi flow, the root problem can be addressed and corrected. This in turn can help bring the body back into balance, relieving the patient of any painful symptoms, while improving their overall health and well-being."

Backed by centuries of clinical use in China and other East Asian countries, acupuncture is based on the concept of qi. Pronounced “chee”, this is the “life force” or “energy flow” that moves through and animates all living things.
When we experience illness or other disorders, our bodies are off balance because our qi flow is obstructed in some way. Once the qi flow is restored to normal, the body returns to harmony.
This harmony can be achieved through the application of acupuncture, which is the placement hair-thin, sterile needles at very precise acupuncture points located on the body. There are more than 365 acupuncture points on the body, and each one has its own clinical applications.
Acupuncture needles stimulate the body’s qi flow, pushing the healing system into action. There are Acupuncture Remedies for many common ailments:
Acne Treatments - Acupuncture can help mild to severe cases of acne, especially when used in combination with herbal treatments. Acupuncture addresses the root causes and produces harmony in the lungs, stomach, and spleen, which reflect on the skin’s appearance. Anxiety Treatments - Acupuncture is considered to be an effective treatment for anxiety. The results are often immediate, target multiple issues, and require little reinforcement when compared to drugs and other therapies. Arthritis Treatments - Chinese medical theories state that arthritis is a result of a blockage or stagnation of qi. Acupuncturist Remedies combined with herbs can be very successful at reducing the inflammation and pain associated with all types of arthritis. Depression Treatments - Acupuncture is used to treat an individual’s unique symptoms by using specific points on the body. This can help eliminate the need for drugs and intense therapy for severe or chronic depression. Eczema Treatments - Acupuncture Remedies can activate the endocrine and immune systems while increasing endorphin production. It targets points along the legs, arms, and torso to regulate the skin cell production that causes patches on the skin. Headache Treatments - Acupuncture can provide relief from tension headaches without the side effects associated with drug treatments. Acupuncture is a widely accepted form of relief for headaches, and has been used for thousands of years for pain relief. Insomnia Treatments - Preliminary studies have shown that Acupuncture Remedies may help relieve insomnia by increasing one’s nighttime melatonin production. The result is patients falling asleep faster, awakening less often through the night, and reducing stress. Irritable Bowel Syndrome Treatments - Acupuncture is a popular alternative treatment for irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS. Acupuncture can help reduce abdominal pain as well as other symptoms associated with this disease, allowing the patient to function normally. Low Back Pain Treatments - Lower back pain is one of the top reasons people turn to acupuncture for pain relief treatments. Acupuncture has been shown to provide effective, long term relief to those with severe or chronic lower back pain. Migraine Treatments - Acupuncture Treatments work on Migraines in a similar way that they help with tension headaches. With migraines, acupuncture can help reduce the number of days of suffering while alleviating the intensity of the headaches and other migraine related symptoms with long lasting effects. Morning Sickness Treatments - By using acupuncture on a point above the wrist, the vomiting and nausea associated with morning sickness can be greatly reduced. Acupuncture has been shown to help in cases of hyperemesis gravidarium, a severe form of morning sickness. Neck Pain Treatments - By applying acupuncture when experiencing neck pain, spasms can be greatly reduced and pain lessened. Acupuncture can help with whiplash, ankylosing spondylosis, and cervical spondylosis. Post-Traumatic Stress Treatments - With post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, specific acupuncture points are stimulated to help control the nervous system and lower stress levels. Patients can quickly experience lower levels of anxiety. Psoriasis Treatments - Needles are placed on points known to exhibit cooling properties. Oriental medicinal practitioners believe that by cooling the blood, removing toxins, and strengthening the lungs, difficult skin conditions such as psoriasis will clear. Sciatica Treatments - Acupuncture works to reverse the qi imbalance and blood stagnation that causes sciatica pain. Acupuncture targets the root of the problem, and in many cases offers almost instant and long-lasting relief. Stress Treatments - Acupuncture treatments can help to relax the patient, enabling them to better manage and respond to the stresses of everyday life. Acupuncture has been shown to have a very calming effect on the body and mind. TMJ Treatments - Temporomandibular disorder, or TMJ is a result of problems with the jaw and facial muscles associated with chewing. Acupuncture can be used to help remove blockages that may be restricting the flow of energy to the jaw area, and reduce the tension causing one to clench their jaw.
Acupuncture is a time tested remedy for these and so many other illnesses and disorders of the body. For many different reasons we may not always want to go with drug and therapy treatments where side effects are common. Acupuncture allows us an alternative treatment that is free of side effects and is often much more cost effective.
With a focus on balance and harmony, the body is restored to a pain free state. Acupuncture won’t simply cover up or mask the symptoms for a short amount of time. It will go to the source of the problem and help correct any imbalance or blockage in one’s natural energy flow.
