Patient Testimonial

"Meeting Rob Vena was the most important thing that happened to me this year and maybe in my whole middle-aged life. Rob conquered in two sessions what was starting to look like a lifetime of lumbar and sciatic pain.

He's successfully treated a range of maladies-plantar fasciitis, arthritis, psoriasis, throat and sinus conditions, and recommended changes in my diet, which have been easy to maintain and had a long lasting benefit.

He's also fun, interesting and very caring, inquiring about the health and well-being of my friends who have used his service."

Sciatica is a severe pain condition that can affect the back, hip, and lateral side of the leg. People of all ages, and in varying conditions of health may suffer from this condition, which is basically caused by a nerve compression in the lower back. You may have sciatica if you have experienced these symptoms:

  • You have pain in your backside or leg that is worse when you sit
  • You have a burning or tingling sensation that radiates down the leg
  • You have weakness or difficulty moving the leg
  • You have a constant pain in your backside
  • You experience a shooting pain that makes it difficult or impossible to stand up

Sciatica is a problem that can have varying causes and can also be indicative of other problems that are going on within your muscular or neurological systems. Different causes of sciatica include:

  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Strain on the low back muscles from standing for long periods of time
  • A slipped disc
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Rapid weight gain
  • Injury to the sciatic nerve or lumbar muscle
  • Pregnancy

Sciatica pain relief can come in many different forms, including physical therapy, rest, and medications. Medications, however, often come with side effects that have the potential to cause the body harm, and simply should not be taken if the sciatica is caused by pregnancy.

One of the best ways to help relieve sciatica or sciatic pain is through the use of acupuncture. Acupuncture does not involve painful, physical therapy and as an  Acupuncturist specializing in treatment for sciatica, I may be able to completely and effectively relieve sciatica symptoms quickly, and without side effects.

Some sciatica pain relief treatments are simply unable to completely eliminate the pain caused by sciatica. Physical therapy, for example, is often unable to do a thorough job of pain relief due to infrequent visits and limitations on what movements sciatica sufferers are able to do. Resting may also be ineffective in completely relieving sciatica symptoms because it requires the patient to be inactive for very long periods of time. Additionally, resting can cause your sciatica to worsen because you are not actively using the muscles that are pressing on the sciatic nerve.

In many cases, acupuncture is able to completely rid patients of their sciatica symptoms and oftentimes totally eliminate the sciatica by freeing up the energy, or Qi flow to the different areas of the body that may be contributing to the problem.

Sciatica can be a very painful disorder that can make it difficult for you to perform everyday tasks.

Sciatica pain relief treatments are a very important step towards getting you back on your feet and functioning as usual. But, while such treatments are important, it is even more important that the treatments get to the root of the problem and help to quickly relieve the pain.
Pregnancy is one of the leading causes of sciatica, and being pregnant makes it impossible to take pain killers or nerve medications to help relieve the discomfort. When looking for sciatica treatment in NJ, especially while pregnant, it is beneficial to avoid medications, and instead, opt for a more holistic approach that will keep you and your baby healthy and safe from the harmful side effects of pharmaceuticals.

Choosing acupuncture as your sciatica relief method is a great option that is free from any of the dangerous side effects that often come with medications.
I have studied the ancient Chinese medical art of acupuncture, and as an Acupuncturist specializing in treatment for sciatica, I am experienced in dealing with its many different aspects. Through the use of acupuncture, I can help to relieve your symptoms of sciatica without the pain of physical therapy or the high risk associated with medications.

I understand that finding an effective sciatica treatment in New Jersey can be difficult, but I am here to help. If you are interested in trying acupuncture sciatica treatments to help relieve your sciatica, you have come to the right place. I will tailor your treatments specifically to your individual needs.
